Connecting Slack to Rethink

Rethink now supports a native Slack integration, making it easier to collaborate directly within your property and deal records. As we transition away from Chatter, Slack will be the primary way to have conversations and share updates with your team inside Rethink. This article walks you through how to get Slack connected and where to find it once it's set up.

Step 1: Set Up Your Slack Workspace

A Rethink administrator will need to complete this step first. If your organization already has a Slack workspace, this may already be done. If not, your admin will:

  1. Log in to Rethink and navigate to Setup.

  2. Search for "Slack Guided Setup" in the Quick Find box and select it.

  3. Click Start Slack Setup, then Get Started.

  4. Enter a name for your organization's Slack workspace and save.

Once the workspace is created, you're ready to move on.

Step 2: Add Slack to Your Record Pages

After the workspace is created, your admin will add the Slack component to the relevant record pages in Rethink (such as Properties, Deal Pipeline, and Contacts). This makes a Slack conversation panel visible directly on those records, so you can collaborate without leaving Rethink. Your admin will:

  1. In Slack Guided Setup, click Add next to "Add Slack conversations to record pages."

  2. Click Add Objects and select all the objects to enable Slack on (for example, Properties, Deal Pipeline, and Contacts).

  3. Open each record page in the page editor, drag the Slack component onto the layout, and save.

Step 3: Connect Your Slack Account

Once the workspace is ready and your admin has granted you access, you'll receive an email from Slack inviting you to join the workspace. Here's what to do:

  1. Open the email from Slack and click the link to accept the invitation.

  2. Follow the prompts to either create a new Slack account or sign in to an existing one.

  3. Once connected, you'll be part of the workspace and can access Slack directly within Rethink.

Using Slack in Rethink

After your account is connected, you'll see a Slack panel on the record pages your admin has enabled it for. From there, you can start or join conversations tied directly to that record, keeping all communication organized and in context.

If you don't see the Slack panel on a record or didn't receive an invitation email, reach out to your Rethink administrator.
