Enabling Property Portfolio Functionality
Updated over a week ago

A real estate portfolio is a collection of property investments owned by an individual or group. This article will explain how to set up portfolio functionality in your properties layouts. These steps must be completed by the system administrator.

From any property page, select Setup, then Edit Object.

Next, click on Page Layouts again and choose a property layout (besides Portfolio). Note, you'll need to repeat the next two steps for each of your property page layouts.

Drag and drop the Parent Property field onto the Property Details section below.

Click Save.

Once the Parent Property field has been added to all your property page layouts, refresh the browser and navigate to a portfolio property record you have created.

You will see the new Add Property button at the top - use this button to add existing properties to a portfolio.

Simply select the desired property from the lookup, then click Assign Properties.

The properties you add to the portfolio will appear in the Properties related list.

To remove a property from a portfolio, go into the individual property and delete the value in the Parent Property field. This will remove the association to the portfolio without deleting the property from the database.
