Identifying How Many Records an Object Has

Updated over a week ago

If you need a quick way to find out how many Companies, Contacts, and Properties you have in your Salesforce org, here's a simple method using the Storage Usage section.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Log in to Salesforce with an admin account.

  2. In the top-right corner, click on the gear icon (βš™οΈ) and choose Setup.

  3. In the left-hand menu, go to:

    • Administration

    • β†’ Data

    • β†’ Storage Usage

  4. Once you're in the Storage Usage screen, scroll down to the "Data Storage" section.

  5. Here, you'll see a list of objects (such as Accounts, Contacts, and any custom objects like Properties), along with a record count for each.

πŸ“Œ Notes

  • Only users with appropriate permissions (like Admins) can access this information.

  • The "Storage Usage" page provides a real-time count, so it reflects your current data.

If you're not seeing the data you expect or the custom object isn’t listed, double-check that you have the correct permissions and that the object is in use.
